Lyrica & Cymbalta. Are the Side Effects worth it?

I have been researching the two new drugs that they are using for Fibromyalgia nowadays. Cymbalta and Lyrica. Has anyone tried these? My doctor wants me to try them (either or), but after reading feedback from other Fibro patients and the horrible side effects they have had, I definitely don't want to try them. I know science is trying, but if they only knew how miserable we were on a day to day basis, why would we want to take a medicine that makes us feel worse than we already do?

I found these two pages that have feedback from other patients who have tried the medicines. Tell me what you think? Have you tried them? Would you try them after reading these two pages? I mean, Lyrica makes your hair fall out, and Cymbalta makes your irises dissolve and people have gone blind from it. The drug manufacturers ALWAYS FAIL to mention everything, huh?

Hello my name is Marnie and I am actually on both Lyrica and Cybalta. I have been on both for years. Lyrica is of course for my Fibromyalgia, and the highest dose they have ever had me on was 400mg a day so trust me when I say I know how you feel when it comes to side effects. I think the one I hate the most is that it causes you to retain water, and not just a little. Just my face alone would puff up, my family was my wittness. My neck and chest area around collar bone, top of shoulders from neck down, hands, legs, feet ECT. Marked difference from morning to night. Another affect is doubled and or blurry Vision. Groggy fatigue. However when you have such severe fibromyalgia, the side effects seem to out weigh the benefits. Its better than being i. Such intense, agonizing, merciless, never ending pain. I was put on Cymbalta for my auto immune disease, CELIAC, i been in Refractory stage for a very long time, they were prescribing it for celiacs claiming it helps the gut and stomach work better, because celiac impairs the digestive system. It didn't seem to help me enough after taking it for a long time i chose to stop taking it due to side effects, it would raise my body temperature and i would just pour sweat all day it was absolutely and completely uncomfortable and aggravating. Ironically my physical medicine doctor put me bad on it recently because she said it supposed helps with pain and could aid in all my painfull diseases and conditions...Fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, degenerative disc disease, chronic headaches, migraines, scoiliosis, wide spread arthritis, among others. Well to all those out there who are fighting the momentary, and daily battles, of chronic pain and trying to maintain a positive outlook and life....keep a smile on your face and in your heart. I am only 33 so i will be right here with you for a long time still, there's still a long journey ahead. God bless and be well my friends
